Ali Abbasi Lorki, Changuleh development project manager, said Tuesday that the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) has so far signed a confidentiality agreement with Russia’s Gazprom, Norway’s DNO and Thailand’s PTTEPP on conducting a study concerning the development of the Changuleh oil field in western Iran, adding “these three companies have been given six months to present their proposals on the development of this oilfield.”
He maintained that the oilfield will come on stream after completion of two phases, adding “in phase 1, six oil wells with a daily production of about 15,000 barrels are expected to become operational, and in phase 2, thirteen wells are scheduled to be drilled within a period of about 40 months, which will bring our oil production up to 35,000 barrels per day.”
The two phases will thus amount to 19 wells to be drilled within a period of about 80 months and with a daily production of 50,000 barrels of oil.
Changuleh oil field, discovered in 1999 but never developed, is located 80Km northwest of Dehloran city and situated at northwest part of North Dezful basin in Lorestan province. The oil field is estimated to hold more than 2 billion barrels of oil-in-place.
